All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships 2017

Donegal Bay Rowing Club saw host to over 500 excited, motivated crews from coastal rowing clubs across the country as part of the All Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships. The competition, hosted in Ballyshannon, exhibits the best talent and skill that coastal rowing has to offer in Ireland and attracts a crowd of more than 5000 each year !

East Ferry Rowing Club had yet another successful national championships with 21 of our 24 crews who traveled qualifying for the finals after the first day of rowing. The club brought home 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze, with many of our teams finishing within the top 5 boats. (see PDF attached for results and times). The sport of coastal rowing is growing each year, and with that the standard of competition. We are looking forward to competing next year !

We cannot be more proud of our members, all the training paid off ! Well Done ! The club wishes to extend a thank-you to Donegal Bay Rowing Club for hosted a well organised and managed championship. Congrats to the Irish Coastal Rowing Federation Committee for organising another successful championships. Well-done to all the CRA crews - bringing a massive hawl of medals back to East Cork ! and to each each club who took part for the tough competition !

Finally a thank-you to East Ferry Farm and AB Access Scaffolding for supporting the club for the 2016/2017 season and to everyone in our own club who helped out in Ballyshannon - I would mention all of ye by name but I'll be here all day !
